Is it fair for Offline Player?
There are few arguments among gamers that it is not fair to ban players who use Cheat Engine codes (or hacks) to play in Offline mode only. This is understandable, however, players should also remember that the XP or items, or best weapons you earn when playing offline can be used online and that’s the reason why FromSoftware can have the rights to ban anyone who using Cheat Engine codes.
Is there any way to avoid DS3 Cheat Engine Ban?
Well, the first simple thing you could do to avoid Cheat Engine Ban is NOT to use any Cheats (or hacks) at all. But, if you still insist to use it, then what you’ll need to do is to prevent DS3 from access the internet by following these steps:
- Log out of your Steam Account.
- Disconnect your computer from the internet manually (via Windows settings or unplug the LAN cable directly).
- Configure your Windows firewall to block DS3 from accessing the internet permanently.
Not familiar with Windows Firewall? No problem, check this out:
From your Windows, go to Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Advanced Settings ->Inbound Rules -> New Rule -> Program and select DarkSoulsIII.exe (Browse to your installation folder) Once you’ve selected it, remember to name it darksouls3 or something and apply.
Repeat the same steps to apply Outbound Rules on DarkSoulsIII.exe. And that’s it! Your game will never be able to communicate with the online server.
What if I don’t want to use Cheat Engine anymore?
Tired of using Cheats and want to go back to “Traditional” way?
First, remove all Cheat Engines that you’ve installed earlier on your machine. Secondly, make sure all Save games that you’ve played while using Cheat Engines will be Removed from your machine to avoid anything suspicious. And last but not the least, perform a fresh installation for DS3 for your machine to make sure everything is clean from the top to bottom.
So what Might or Might Not get you Bannedfrom DS3?
According to Sharkbitch, a Reddit user, there is a list called Softban Data and Testing of what could or could not get you banned. This list was based on the major banned wave sent out by FromSoftware on November 2nd, 2016. Checkout the link above for more information.
Even with or without using Cheat Engine, I have to say that DS3 is really worth every penny of yours. This could be the last chapter of the famous franchise, it’s a powerful journey and the sequel the series truly deserves. Even though the journey to darkness may be tough and challenging, but there’s a throne waiting at the end.
